Privacy

Local notes work without an account, analytics, or a network connection.

Local by default

• Notes are plain files on your machine.
• No telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting is included.
• No account is required until you enable sync.

When sync is on

Noam sends binary Yjs updates over TLS to the server you selected. That server can relay changes and enforce permissions.

Current limitation

The sync protocol is not end-to-end encrypted yet. Anyone who operates the server should be inside your trust boundary.
